Arutz Sheva:
Reported: 08:49 AM - Feb/19/10(IsraelNN.com) The opening of the opera "La Juive" (The Jewish Woman) at St. Petersburg's Mikhailovsky theater was postponed from Thursday night to Friday night by a bomb threat that proved to be false, according to the ITAR-TASS news agency. Theater director Vladimir Kekhman said an unknown man claiming to be a member of a radical nationalistic grouping called with a warning that bombs had been planted inside the building and would go off shortly before the performance.
The performance was timed for the opening of the Year of France in Russia. It was written by 19th century French composer Jacques-Francois-Fromental-Elie Halevy, based on a story by Eugene Scribe. French stage director Arnaud Bernard and stage designer Herbert Murauer adapted the arresting storyline to modern times, according to the theater's website. [link]
