Gov. Mike Huckabee: Create Palestinian State Outside of Israel

The Yeshiva World:

Orthodox Jew Hosts Presidential Candidate

October 15, 2007

prez can cover.jpg(By Shmuel Hakoton) Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a Republican presidential contender, gave a stump speech and answered questions today at the home of New Hampshire State Representative Jason Bedrick, the first Orthodox Jew elected to the NH House of Representatives.

“People often tell me that they agree with what Huckabee has to say, but don’t think he can win,” said Bedrick, “Not only can he win, he must win if we’re going to put this country back on track.”

Bedrick also noted that though Huckabee isn’t a household name yet, he believes that he will be. “No one had ever heard of the last governor from Hope, Arkansas, Bill Clinton, the summer before he was elected. Huckabee is polling well in all the early states; he’s a long shot but he’s the best shot we’ve got.”

New Hampshire is the home of the first primary in the nation and it has a history of picking lesser-known candidates who go on to become President.

In response to a question about the Middle East from Rabbi Moshe Bleich of the Wellesley-Weston Chabad Center, Gov. Huckabee expressed frustration with Israeli politicians who wanted to give away the Golan Heights and firmly opposed dividing Jerusalem.

When asked about a Palestinian state, Gov. Huckabee stated that he supports creating a Palestinian state, but believes that it should be formed outside of Israel. He named Egypt and Saudi Arabia as possible alternatives, noting that the Arabs have far more land than the Israelis and that it would only be fair for other Arab nations to give the Palestinians land for a state, rather than carving it out of the tiny Israeli state.

Gov. Huckabee, who has visited Israel nine times, also expressed support for moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and stressed the importance of making America energy independent in ten years for both environmental and national security reasons. “We just can’t continue to be dependent on Saudi oil,” explained Huckabee, “I want to be able to tell the Saudis that we need their oil about as much as we need their sand.”

A crowd of over seventy people came to meet Gov. Huckabee and listen to him answer questions while they enjoyed kosher pastries and coffee. Gov. Huckabee also spoke of the need to overhaul the tax code, eliminating the IRS and replacing all taxes on income and production with a consumption tax.

Gov. Mike Huckabee served as governor of Arkansas for ten years and he is a past chairman of the National Governors’ Association. Rep. Jason Bedrick is a first-term state representative serving the towns of Windham and Salem, NH. He is also the gabbai of the Wellesley-Weston Chabad synagogue in Wellesley, MA. [link]

"sanity" is the name? Yet another neo-pagan leftist is desperately trying to sound smart. Don't worry "sanity", G-d of Israel keeps His promise and does not go bankrupt. The Land of Israel belongs to the Jews, everybody else there failed when they tried to take over the country -- you don't know this because of the limitations of the current system of education. Looking up the name Thor is a good start. But not enough.

Obviously we are in great need of Thor to return from his long vacation and pound on Yahweh for promising a sliver of land to so many people at the same time. What am amateur deity he's turned out to be.

You see, Carol Ann, here you are showing your liberal persuasion-- you, actually, do not own New York to give it away. New York belongs to American people, and more specifically to the citizens of the Empire State. So bottom line -- it is not yours to give away. Land of Israel on the other hand, belongs to the Jewish people, not to UN, not to EU, not even to Ehud Olmert. All attempts to give it away will result in nothing. Just read history. But, thank you, for your advice anyway. NYC is a very good place.

I think we Americans should help the Israeli Jews by giving them New York. That would get them into an environment that they have more in common with than they have in historic Palestine. They could be with their Jewish brothers and sisters and be secure in the U.S.A.

I'm an independent and love Gov. Huckabee's message and honesty!!! My concern is, how he intends to provide for the insane, the elderly, the disabled, and the low-
income minor children...how he plans to return to regulating the medical industry, and undo what Reagan did by deregulating it, thereby making it affordable for all Americans to have good health care as we did before Nixon and Reagan!
What honest plan he has to provide productive means to care for the homeless.
How he intends to STOP "Corporate Welfare," Corporate "rape of the middle class," ileagal immigration which does not allow the working class to compete with slave-like-wages ileagals are willing to accept? And what pro-active plan he has to provide realistic temporary financial and child care support to pregnant women/girls, so they can keep their children instead of aborting them?
Is he interested in enforcing our laws and de-certify churches from their "non-profit" status when their clergy violates the law...such as when priests or ministers of any faith MOLEST CHILDREN, or support their vices and immoralities with the churches funds?
I want him to win and stay on for the 8 years our Constitution permits (I don't want anyone adulterating the Constitution to accomodate their political ambitions like Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is aiming to do). Gov. Huckabee is the only one I trust will do something to set things back in order in our country, but I would like for him to address those things which are of concern not only to me, but to millions of other Americans as well!
Respectfully,

It makes us all warm and fuzzy to discuss how God gave "biblical rights" to Israel but in actuality the modern state of Israel shares very little in common with Biblical Israel. All you have to do is spend a little bit of time behind the segregation wall in Bethlehem to figure that out. The practices of the modern Israeli army and the policies of the modern government are barbaric and inhumane. To say they have a "biblical" or God-given right to anything more than what they were given in 1948 is disgusting. If any other country was in violation of as many U.N. regulations as Israel currently is, the U.S. would have invaded them 40 years ago. Talk about hypocrisy! All these people like Mike Suckabee who claim to know the in's and out's of this situation because they've "visited Israel" a couple of times should actually come visit the other side of the wall and what it does for your rosy view of the State of Israel.

"You people are too weak to discuss Palestinian issue"? What the hell are you talking about? Do you even speak English?
Who said the word "relocation"? I believe you did. "Viva Palestine?"
Who are you in you mind, Yasser Arafat? or Che Gevara? To me you sound like a pinko cook pretending to be a combination of both.

who are you people to decide where palestinians should live? I think you are too weak to discuss the Palestinian issue. Palestinians relocation in your dreams. Viva Palestine for ever.

I appreciate Huckabee's grap of both the secular and biblical realities of this complex issue. The title deed to Israel was given specifically by God to the Jewish people and as difficult and painful as the Palestinian situation is ... it would be better for all concerned parties - in the long-term - if they would relocate the Palestinian's in neighboring countries who have plenty of land and are more compatible culturally.
Until Israel's right to exist is settled with their Arab neighbors ... no meaningful arrangement will ever take place! You can never even start walking down the road to peace until their is mutual respect among those searching for long-term solutions.

This is great news. At last a candidate on the front run that says the right thing to say!
Whether he will live up to his word once he gets to the Oval Office remains to be seen. But this article definitely tilts the scale on Huckabee's favor.

Ann Marie,

Somehow you are not convincing in your role as Christian Conservative.
May we ask whom you are supporting now, since Mike H. is no longer an option for you?
You conveniently skipped the facts that we cited about ethnic cleansing of the Jews in PA and other (all of them) Arab countries. While you claim not to tolerate ethnic cleansing against the Jews, this claim lacks an emotional drive that you put behind supposed transfer of Palestinians. BTW, Mike H. never said transfer -- this is your word, that you put in his mouth. Once again, you sound like a lefty -- same one-sided application of justice, disregard for the facts, emotions out of control, and selectively directed outrage.
A great Russian stage director Stanislavsky used to say to actors who failed to convince him by their play -- "I don't believe".
Neither do we. Practice, practice a lot.

Season Greetings!

How can a candidate for President propose that Israel violate the Fourth Geneva Convention, article 49 which prohibits a "transfer"?

If I oppose a Presidential candidate because he supports the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, how does one automatically conclude that, that means I support the elimination of Israel? Cry wolfe enough times and no one will listen to you.

The drama aside, I would also NOT support a candidate who proposed the ethnic cleansing of Israelis. That's called consistency without hypocrisy.

I'm also well educated on this subject. I'm a Christian/Conservative who could never vote for a democrat if my life depended on it.

But this isn't about me, it's about whether one should support a candidate who supports ethnic cleansing. I cannot support that, just as I couldn't support him if he were supporting the Arab fanatics who want Israel wiped off the map.

What's the difference between this policy and the policy of Iran? The only difference is, which people are the target of ethnic cleansing!

Try consistency and views which are not hypocritical and you'll actually get people to respect those views.

Emer, and you can join them too.

I think Huckabee should join Hillary on that rocket to Mars...

Ann Marie, obviously, does not have a problem with ethnic cleansing of Jews. How many Jews live in Gaza? None. How many Jews new Palestinian state is willing to accept in the West Bank? Zero. What is the criminal punishment in friendly Jordan for selling real estate property to a Jew? Death penalty.
Ann Marie, any thoughts?

And give us a break, you were planning to vote for Huckabee. Since when? Is his other name Ron Paul, or Obama, or Hillary?
You sound like a lefty because you are one. Go away.

Ann Marie, don't be so brain washed
and please, learn more facts about
Israel.

I was just about to support Mike Huckabee for President until I read this. Transfer = Ethnic Cleansing. I cannot support ethnically cleansing Palestinians

It's a good ideal expect the problem is where are you going to put them that people don't already live? That's the problem in the first place, giving people land that at the time doesn't belong to them. It happened during the times of the Romans too and guess what.... the same thing happened. And if it's a place where no one lives chances are no one lives their cause it's not a good place to live. There is also the problem of how are you going to make them just get up and leave? People can be pretty stubborn when you are forcing them out of their homes.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia are too close to Israel, which means that "Palestinians" will continue shooting rockets and sneaking terrorists. I think the best place for a Palestinian entity is Birobijan.

he is crazy and will never win any thing
