Dear brave anonymous How dishonest,
"Just watched the video. Seva, I liked how you said you were 'just curious.' Were you trying to cover up your previous activism? Why?"
I never, repeat, NEVER, "cover up" my "previous activism". In fact, I am quite open about it. Anyone who asks me whether I do so, friend or foe alike, I admit it. Proudly, I might add, as I have nothing to hide or be ashamed or afraid of. You should have been able to figure that one out for yourself by now, my dear brave warrior for justice.
Had Fox asked me about my "previous activism", the answer would have been a resounding YES. In fact, anyone who cares enough to Google for my name (as Fox TV did) will immediately find out what I do, as I am VERY open about it.
The reason I went to that rally on the 21st of July was indeed because I was curious about it -- as I said on TV, I wanted to see what kind of people there were and what kind of message they had to deliver.
I actually like Lebanon and the Lebanese people, and wish them all the best, including peace, prosperity, and democracy. That would make a war between them and Israel highly unlikely -- democracies do not go to war with each other.
Besides, I have a vested personal interest in that -- my brother, many relatives and friends live there, and I don't want them to die or get hurt.
"I was also surprised that you could only identify TWO pro-Hezbollah signs, one of which was held by David Rolde--who is not linked to the organizers of the rally. Bit disingenuous to call it a pro-Hezbollah rally, no?"
Please find where I state that the rally was pro-Hezbollah -- somehow, my memory fails me, as I can't recall it.
"That's not the first inacccuracy doesn't seem like your biggest concern. In the WorldNetDaily article about this, the headline was, 'Muslims attack Jew at U.S. Islamic rally.' Yet in your original account of this on Solomonia, you reported that Noah Cohen, a fellow Jew, tried to get in your way, that a white woman (no indication that she was Muslim) tried to grab your camera, and then a dark-skinned man whose religion we don't know (could be Christian, Druze, Muslim, or something else) threatened you."
I suggest you take it up with the WorldNetDaily folks -- they interviewed me on the phone, and then wrote the article. I gave them the facts (as you read them on Solomonia), and the rest was up to them. So don't complain about it to me, OK?
"This is quite different than you being threatened by 'Muslims.' I asked on Monday, on Solomonia, if you intended to correct the headline. You can read it at a dark-skinned man whose religion we don't know (could be Christian, Druze, Muslim, or something else) threatened you. I received no reply, which makes me think that you couldn't have been too concerned with this inaccuracy. I find that shameful."
I didn't see your comment, sorry. You are getting my response "here and now" (ugh .. I think I just used an NPR term). After I was harrased by Noah Cohen, and after he realized I was not about to give in to his intimidation, he called up for reinforcements by declaring me a Zionist -- you can hear it on the video. His call was answered. An angry mob of people, including the woman who grabbed my camera, and quite a number of Arabs (you can hear some of them on the video) surrounded me, shouted at me, and were threatening me, including a threat against my life.
All these actions constitute a number of punishable criminal (as well as civil) offenses, including but not limited to assault, assault and battery, hate speech, violation of my civil rights, etc.
During the commotion, Noah sneakily attempted to break the swivel monitor off my camera. This, and somebody else grabbing my arm, precipitated my scuffle with him, which cooled him off.
Noah's actions constitute a number of punishable criminal (as well as civil) offenses, including but not limited to assault, assault and battery, property crimes, numerous violations of my civil rights, etc.
Hit the books, why don't you?
You were not there at the scene, were you, my dear fellow truth seeker? You did not see or hear what transpired, did you? So do me a favor, and spare me your nonsensical accusations, won't you please? Thank you.
One last thing: Noah Cohen is NOT my "fellow Jew" -- nothing could be further away from the truth. Noah is anything but a Jew -- yeah, his parents (at least his father, if that is how he got his last name) may have been Jewish. However, at this point Noah is one of the most virulent enemies of my people, and I will not rest until he either is arrested and jailed, or learns how to behave in a civilized manner.
Start using your brain, whoever you are -- there must be some reason the generous Lord has given it to you, don't you think?
Be well,
Seva

"I wonder what would happen if someone shoved a camera in people's faces at, say, last summer's picket at the Jewish consulate against the Gaza withdrawal. I hope that no one would be as foolish as those in Seva's video, but I'm not holding my breath"
Dear brave anonymous reader,
1. I did NOT shove the camera in people's faces -- I was quietly going about my business, holding the camera at chest or waist level, not getting into any discussions or confrontations (until I got attacked) -- I just wanted to see and record the event. Please choose your words more carefully next time, or risk being accused of misrepresentation.
2. Nobody would attack a person trying to record the pro-Israel demonstration -- we (generally) don't engage in such behavior. Now, I can't say we don't have our nuts -- we do, but such people are immediately restrained by the rest of us.
Ever asked yourself why there is such a heavy police presence at "our" events, and almost none at "yours"?
Let me give you the answer:
The cops know us to be peaceful and non-violent, and know that if we go to counter-protest your demonstrations, there will not be any trouble as we would not attack you.
The reverse, alas, is sadly and simply not true.
This past Friday's vigil at Copley was yet another such example.
Get real.

P.S. "if you are not Daniel Pipes, Alan Dershowitz ... take some damn time to prepare. ... If you go on TV- consult with somebody who is an expert"
Actually, my brave anonymous detractor, I was not there in the capacity of an expert a la Pipes or Dershowitz -- I was merely an eyewitness. Should a witness get coached? In court, judges frown upon such behavior.
Be well.

Thank you, Eli! No, wait, make that "I can't thank you enough" -- you know what I mean. To be continued, I hope.
Thank you, Mike R., whoever you are.
Hmmm, envy/jealousy? Maybe -- whatever ... I tend to think that I know the identity of the disgruntled viewer/reader -- he's a rather cantankerous and vindictive type. And it wouldn't be the first time he did similar things anonymously. Too bad, I like him nonetheless. It's just a shame he would choose to bicker instead of joining forces and fight side by side. But then again, I may be mistaken about his (hers?) identity. Whoever you are, this approach ain't gonna do you no good, and it sure as hell ain't gonna help me either.
I will only say this for myself:
1. I have never been on TV before, and there was next to no time to engage someone who knew how such things are propely done -- not that I even knew whom to ask for such assistance and coaching, to begin with;
2. Being in the studio in front of a black box, not seeing the person one is talking to, is weird, unnatural, and somewhat tense.
3. I actually WAS prepared for a somewhat extended interview, I had printed out notes for myself, I had index cards laid out in front of me on the table -- but then, when the actual on-air interview took place, it was not what I expected it to be, so I had to adjust to it on the fly. I may have botched that job, but it's not for me to judge -- I had calls and e-mails from across the country, including many people I've never met before -- they liked it. So I'll just let the record stand on its own merits.
4. In addition to answering questions, I was able to bring up two important points out of 4 that I had planned for, namely;
(a) I discredited David Rolde of the GRP of MA, and
(b) I fired broadside at Mahdi Bray.
Let the lawsuits begin ...
So, I would beg to disagree with my brave and anonymous detractor in that I did in fact "expose our adversaries".
I welcome any and all constructive criticism so that I may be able to learn the new skills to do things better next time around -- ha-ha, ain't he full of himself -- he thinks there'll be "next time", that pretentious dork ...
Whatever ... Get a life, duh ... I'm sorry, but it so happens that I am busy doing the fighting, so please forgive my less than perfectly polished image.

Say what you will about Seva's presentation skills; the fact is he had the guts to check out the rally - personally confront some of those who foster hatred under the guise of "humanist values" and film some important video.

You are missing the point.
I have utmost respect for Seva for his courage & the moral stand he took. But, if I am not a nucleaur physicist- would I dare to profess my understanding of the nuclear bomb. By the same token- if you are not Daniel Pipes, Alan Dershowitz or --- fill in the blanks- take some damn time to prepare. It reminds me of the Israeli PR people- every time an Israeli general goes on TV- we lose X number of supporters. If you go on TV- consult with somebody who is an expert

Somebody is getting pretty jealous here. Sooo, we know how to spell G-d in order not to be offensive, but we don't know how to treat another Jew with respect. What have you, whatever is your name, have done for us lately?
Would you join Seva in his further expeditions? Or only if invited to Fox?
